I joined Vision whilst recovering from a knee injury and as a result hadn't been able to exercise and in particular run for a couple of months. Running is something I love, it's my "me time" and has a positive impact on my physical and mental health. Over the couple of months not exercising I found myself getting down mentally and put on weight taking me up to over 85kg, a weight I had never been before.
From the beginning of Oct 2018 to middle of May 2019 I dropped over 10kg but the thing I was happiest with the most was running a half marathon in a time of 90ms 53 sec. I had started the journey back in October with Liam aiming for a sub 105 min half marathon, never thought I would get close to 90 mins!
No question the most critical bit was the structure, guidance and motivation of the training and the trainer. Working with Liam to lose weight, improve nutrition and improve leg strength were critical in achieving this goal. It was the knowledge and guidance that Liam provided that made this training experience different to any other I've tried.
This hasn't been "hard work"...! Yes, it takes hard work but it's been fun and rewarding!
