For years, I have struggled with my weight and lack of activity, but like most mum's I put my family first, even after they had grown up, left home and had families of their own!
It was in 2015 that I started to notice I was losing weight and was quite excited by the fact, but this was short lived as I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and the bittersweet shock that it was the disease that was contributing to the weight loss, and sadly it was not just fat but muscle tone too. Having already been diagnosed with AF - Arterial fibrillation, this was another blow to my health.
So, with the support of my family, some of who were already members of Vision Personal Training Engadine, I bit the bullet, took their advice and joined up too.
Whilst my journey hasn't been actively focused on losing weight, by making better food choices and working on my strength, balance and coordination, I have in turn lost 7kgs, but this time it's fat and not muscle!
Both my cardiologist and neurologist could not be happier with the improvements of my health and this has also helped to slow the symptoms of my Parkinson's.
