Sometimes it starts with not knowing where to begin - just knowing something needs to change. What followed here wasn’t anything extreme or complicated, but a steady, supported approach that led to real, lasting results. Michael's story is a reminder that with the right guidance and consistency, even the biggest goals can become achievable.

 

What first brought you to Vision, and how were you feeling about your health and fitness back then?

“I wanted to lose weight and get fitter. I didn’t know where to start, and Vision seemed like a great way to tick both of those goals in a supported way.”

 

What’s one thing you’ve achieved here that still surprises you when you think about it?

“Losing 30 kg. That number seemed incomprehensible before starting.”

 

Can you describe what your journey has looked like since joining Vision – the highs, the hard bits, and what kept you going?

“I’ve always battled with my weight and body image, so to see the weight loss while also seeing my body change because of the weights program has really been an awesome experience.

There have been times where I’ve gained a bit of weight back, and that makes you question what you are doing, but the trainers have always had my back. They’ve told me to stick at it and be patient, go back to basics, and even eat more sometimes!”

 

How has being part of the Vision community made a difference for you – in or outside the studio?

“The studio has become a little haven where I go to exercise and spend time with like-minded people. The camaraderie of working towards something individually but collectively at the same time is a great thing.”

 

What would you say to someone who’s in the same shoes you were when you started – maybe nervous, unsure, or stuck?

“Just give it a go and believe in yourself and the trainers. The trainers have so much knowledge to share.”

 

What’s next for you - and how do you see everything you’ve learned here helping you stay strong and healthy long-term?

“I’m still on the weight loss path but now looking towards getting into some running activities.

I’ve really learnt that it’s not as complicated as we make it in our minds - it’s about moving, eating well, getting rest, and drinking water!”
