Fail to plan, plan to fail!

99% of clients have the best of intentions when it comes to their nutrition, but as the weeks go by, they struggle to be consistent with their healthy eating endeavours.

Here are my best three tips on where you may be going wrong and how to turn that around and nail your nutrition 24/7!

1) Being too strict

A lot of people tend to have an 'all or nothing' attitude when it comes to their nutrition. This typically leads to someone sticking to a strict plan for a few weeks and then it all comes crashing down after breaking it once or twice. This is due to the fact that it is unsustainable to be too strict long term.

Ideally, you want to include 80% 'healthy' foods in your diet (such as lean protein sources, vegetables, etc), allowing you to have 20% freedom to be able to socialise and enjoy yourself!

This is a much more sustainable approach allowing you to enjoy your eating and reach your macronutrient goals at the same time.

2) Not being prepared

What we often hear from clients when they are struggling with consistency is 'I didn't have anything ready' or 'I was out and had nothing with me'.

Being prepared with either a plan, an already prepared meal or even better yet, understanding what are the best choices on the menu when eating out. This is essential to keep consistent!

It is also important to have some quick go to snack with you when you are on the run so a quick takeaway stop is not necessary!

3) Your food choices are too bland

I don't know about you, but a plate of dried out chicken, broccoli and rice sound pretty boring to me!

In order to stick with a plan, you NEED to make your foods tasty and enjoyable!

This can be as simple as adding some seasoning or marinade to your dish or finding healthy alternatives to traditional meals you enjoy (such as zucchini noodles) to make you excited to eat your next meal!

At the end of the day, you can have a great nutrition plan in place but if you don't stick to it, it's not going to get you anywhere!

So, make sure you are organised with lots of appealing and enjoyable options to keep you on track and continuing to smash your goals!
