How were things before you joined Vision?
Before I joined Vision, I found it hard to keep a long-term commitment to my health and fitness as I'd inevitably let work and other commitments get in the way. I tended to gravitate towards all-or-nothing approaches. However, since joining Vision in January 2019, I've been able to maintain a regular gym routine for over four years. I like to say that I do this by outsourcing my motivation - I can't skip the gym if I know I have my trainer waiting for me! Having a PT makes getting out of bed for an early morning session a lot easier to commit to.
Tell me about your latest journey
When I joined Vision, I was primarily focused on losing weight but now I'm more keen to build strength and muscle, so I can go on longer and harder rides and hikes. My two most recent trainers, Lexi and Lukaz, have really helped me improve my form and strength, and I feel like I've made great progress with their guidance.
What results have you achieved lately?
My strength has improved significantly over the past few months. I can now leg press over 200kgs quite easily, and I've also been steadily increasing my weights for my bench press, wide lat pulldowns and squats.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining Vision?
If someone were thinking about joining Vision, I would encourage them to go for it! From my experience, the trainers and fellow Vision members are welcoming and encouraging, which creates a delightful community vibe (one of the highlights of my weekend is grabbing coffee at Zac's after Lee's Saturday group training session). Additionally, the 9-week program cycle that Vision uses is an excellent way to set goals and work towards them in a supportive environment.
