During my footballing days, my coach would always say to me "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!" The choices we make in life will either put us on the right track or the dark unknown. Why is it the issue that we have more excuses about time constraints, yet we can spend so much time standing in the long lunch lines in those crowded food courts during our lunch breaks?

With all the convenient fingertip services like UberEats our fitness levels are declining. Incidental exercises like walking to a train station or to the shops are fading away with on demand services like Uber and on-demand shuttle buses to your doorstep being introduced to many areas. The statistics don't lie, with a recent survey by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showing two thirds (67%) of Australian adults were overweight or obese.* This is an increase 3.6% from 2014-2015. This should make us have more time to focus on our health. Poor health means loss of income and increased stress levels as the workload increases and productivity declining. An hour of weights a week and 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise a day can help improve one's health, lowering the risk of chronic health conditions like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and Osteoarthritis.

When can you make time to improve yourself during the next 168 hour week? Can you spare 4.5 hours of your week to fitness? Maybe 3 hours of your week on shopping and meal preparation. Is that too hard to ask? Still under 10 hours of your week. Just like doing a budget on your finances, allocate your time wisely. Cut back on the garbage you see and comment on with social media, stop procrastinating and coming up with excuses as they just waste time and people hear them all the time.

Reap the rewards of good health!
