Striving for goals is a journey in itself, with challenges and accomplishments. Having finally reached said goal, the satisfaction high is a unique experience, making the hard parts all worth it once you get there, showing our potential to achieve more in the future.

Once you have achieved the goal it is hard to wipe that smile off your face, even when thinking back on your past success now, you will look back and be proud of what you have done with yourself for the better. Remember that feeling when you crossed the finish line of your first fun run? Or when you held up that weight plate with your trainer to show how much fat mass you have lost? You would have felt amazing in that moment and even looking back on it today you are still super proud of yourself. When looking forward to your next goal after setting and achieving you will be a lot more confident in yourself to do it again and again.

Most people don’t think about when they show off their successes that they are more likely going to inspire someone else to do change for the better whether it is a friend, a family member or a complete stranger. Think about how you started running, was there a success story that you saw that said “maybe I can do it” or “if they can do it why can’t I?”

Finally, trust the process and cherish it. You will be challenged, you will learn from it and personally you will grow from setting a goal and going on that journey. There will be highs and there will be lows but if you cherish and learn from them all you will achieve what you set out to do.
