Making any lifestyle change can be challenging. Many people find that having a goal in mind gives them something to strive towards, which motivates them to stay on track and provides them with a tangible measure of how well they are doing. Goals or targets help give you a reason to get up in the morning when previously you would have stayed in bed, they push you to new levels of health and performance and are great to review and reflect upon once achieved.

Achieving your ultimate goal

Be Realistic - Setting goals that you are capable of achieving is really important, ensure it is a target that pushes you to attain but is not so difficult that it can't be realized.

Be Specific- Try avoid making general statements about your goal like Í want to loose weight'. Make it measureable. Exactly how many kilograms do you want to loose and by which specific date or event?

Make the goal Meaningful - The goal is just for you, if you are losing weight for someone else, or the goal is not really yours it will be more difficult to achieve.
