Before we dive into all the great benefits of continuing your exercise routine, it's important to understand that each person will be different and may have individual conditions that strictly prevent them from attending a fitness facility at the current time - just returned from overseas travel (14 days self-isolation must be adhered to), respiratory conditions, auto immune disease, and/or any other high risk disease.

However, if you're not in that small percentage of people with specific conditions you need to be maintaining a healthy exercise and eating regime, let's find out why:

  • Exercise boosts energy - with more stress these days in our lives and so many things going on, it's vital that we have good energy levels to attack each day and keep things progressing forwards with work, health and family. Exercise strengthens your circulation and heart muscle, your blood flow increases along with your metabolism, in return you will have more energy.
  • Exercise boosts your immune system - it will help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways, reducing your chance of catching a cold, flu or other illness. Exercise can also cause change in your antibodies and white blood cells, these are the body's immune system cells that fight disease.
  • Exercise makes you mentally strong - it promotes chemicals in the brain that improve your mood and make you more relaxed. Specifically, the brain releases feel-good chemicals called endorphins throughout the body. Exercise reduces anxiety and depressed mood, and enhances self-esteem. It'll essentially boost your brainpower.
  • GOALS - remember those 2020 New Year's resolutions? Well this is no time to give up on them, keep focused, stay motivated, and continue to work towards achieving your goals you set yourself a couple of months ago - it'll be worth it in the long run, don't throw it all away now. Remind yourself WHY you set those goals and WHY they're important to you, this will fuel the fire that might be slowly diminishing right now.

Now these are just four benefits of continuing your exercise program, the list really is endless. From this basic list we can see how important it is to keep looking after our bodies so that other areas of our life don't get affected negatively.
